Business to Business

As North Americans feel the shock of high gas prices and stifling gridlock, the bicycle has emerged as an answer for businesses looking to increase workforce productivity, decrease costs, and maximize efficiency. Bicycles are not only great in urban gridlock, they are also used extensively by large factories, airports, and refineries for rapid and safe transit across relatively short distances. Bicycles increase health and add value and brand to your organization.

Case Studies

Employee Bike share program - Toronto

City of Toronto
Employee Bike share program

After amalgamation into a mega-city the employees of the City of Toronto were forced to shuffle between multiple locations within a typical work day. Taxi cab use was expensive and was inconsistent with the cities commitment to lowering its carbon footprint. Moreover, most of the typical trips were under two miles. The idea of a bicycle fleet program was not only cost-saving, but a more efficient way of moving people within the gridlocked city. However, the need for a robust bicycle was key, especially considering the Northeast winters. The city chose the Batavus Old Dutch in a one speed. The bike offered complete clothing protection, a truly upright and safe riding position, and a low maintenance platform that could be stored outside year round - rust free. The program is essentially a civic 'best practices' solution, and the hope is that more and more of the office towers in the Toronto core will follow by example.

Vert Catering - Toronto

Vert Catering
Vert Catering is a socially and environmentally responsible member of the food community. The food is local, fresh, seasonal and passionately cultivated. Vert Catering is committed to produce less landfill waste than any other caterer in the city, making them the greenest solution for corporate or private events. The Pashley Deli bike delivers the food and picks up supplies and is not only a remarkable branding vehicle, but the companies only vehicle!

NY400 Bikes - New York

New York - NY400 bikes
New York City was established in 1609 by Dutch traders aboard the ship 'Half Moon'. Four hundred years later the city of New York honored its Dutch antecedents with a celebration that synched wonderfully with the recent developments in NYC bike culture - a growing mass of cyclists, and a generous amount of new cycling infrastructure. To celebrate, the city of NYC received 200 bright orange NY400 bikes, custom built by Batavus and administered by Bike and Roll, a national bicycle rental company. The bikes were an excellent publicity vehicle, and the most significant, hands-on indicator of Dutch culture. A brilliant success, the bikes will be donated to a charitable cause in the fall of 2009.

Maintenance

Although the bikes we sell are profoundly low maintenance, they still need the occasional day at the spa. Because Fourth Floor Distribution has bicycle retailers across North America, we are able to work with local shops to provide maintenance packages tuned to your needs.
